Studio: Announcing the Opening of Our New Colnaghi Brussels Gallery

23 April 2025 — 30 May 2025

Colnaghi Brussels is delighted to celebrate the opening of its new gallery space in Brussels at 30 rue Jacques Jordaens. The new venue will be inaugurated on 23 April 2025 with an exhibition titled STUDIO, a playful exploration focusing both on artists at work within their studios and on the process of research and study undertaken by Colnaghi during major artistic rediscoveries.

To mark the occasion, Colnaghi will unveil an important recent rediscovery: The Triumph of Minerva by Jacob Jordaens, the seventeenth-century Flemish master after whom the gallery’s new street is named. Rediscovered by Colnaghi after decades away from public view, the painting is widely recognised as a significant study for a large-scale composition by Jordaens that is now lost.

Complementing the STUDIO theme will be a series of nine photographs by Douglas Duncan depicting Pablo Picasso at work in his studio, offering an intimate glimpse into the artist’s creative practice.

The opening reception will take place on Wednesday 23 April 2025 from 5pm to 9pm, with drinks and light refreshments served throughout the evening. Following the opening, the gallery on Rue Jacques Jordaens will operate by appointment, presenting Colnaghi’s selection of Old Master paintings, drawings, and important antiquities.

STUDIO will remain on view until 30 May 2025.
