Colnaghi’s 20th century department follows Colnaghi’s venerable tradition of bringing to the fore important works by the protagonists of the 20th Century together with overlooked historically important artists, like Marie Vassilieff and Maria Blanchard. Colnaghi will undertake multiple exhibitions a year in New York and London, showing significant works by diverse artists from across the centuries, and add a spotlight to the 20th Century.
Founded in 1760, Colnaghi’s pre-eminent status in the field of Old Master and 19th Century work has long been established, selling works by Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raphael, as well as many other major names. As such, moving into the 20th Century is a natural progression. We offer exceptional works by names such as Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida, Edgar Degas, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, and others. Colnaghi continues its tradition of straddling the worlds of scholarship, connoisseurship and commerce.
