Commissioned from the artist in 1845, together with the pendant portrait of her husband Manuel de Gaviria y Douza, I Marquess of Casa Gaviria (1772–1852), and, from 1851, hung in the Palacio de Gaviria, Madrid;
by descent to her son, Manuel de Gaviria y Alcoba, II Marquess of Casa Gaviria and I Count of Buena Esperanza (1794–1855);
by descent to his son, José de Gaviria y Gutiérrez, III Marquess of Casa Gaviria and II Count of Buena Esperanza (d. Havana, 1894);

alienated from its owners during the Spanish Civil War;
Miguel Mateu Plá (1898–1972), Barcelona;
